This HVOF thermal spray system deposits tungsten carbide (WC) coatings on compressor rods used in the oil and gas industry. The HVOF spray process is used to develop the high densities and bond strengths required for this application, which was previously applied by detonation process. Our thermal spray system includes a lathe for part rotation, a single-axis gun mover with flip mechanism for translating the spray torch and a sliding top enclosure for easy loading of long shafts. |
