Our plasma system includes a dual shuttle arrangement for loading and unloading racks of blades. An ABB robot provides motion control for a plasma torch to coat a series of compressor blade roots. The shuttle also rotates the rack 180 degrees so that both sides of the root can be coated. Two such plasma spray machines process over 1 million blades annually. |
