Landing Gear Robotic Shot Peen Facility

Share

This large robotic shot peen machine is designed to peen the ID and OD surfaces of a range of landing gear components up to 126 inches long and 31.5 inches diameter. The parts are loaded using an integral machine mounted hoist and can be rotated or indexed on the horizontal spindle. A horizontal rotating lance is programmed to peen the ID surfaces, and an inverted Fanuc robot manipulates a direct pressure nozzle or rotating lance drive to peen all outside surfaces. In addition, a Fanuc vision system mounted on the robot enables the system control to verify proper part selection and mounting position.
