This system is another purpose-build peening system by Progressive Surface. It utilizes a Fanuc arm robot on a protected linear track to shot peen complex aircraft landing gear components. The blast nozzle can be swapped for a rotary lance device to target the many pin holes. Long shaft parts are fixtured to a tilting turntable and supported by an adjustable steady rest. The table can pivot 90 degrees and operate as a part turning device in the vertical rotation axis. In this orientation the component can be targeted by the robot or manual from the adjacent operator station. The system also features large front loading swing doors and a large roof flip door for easy access by an overhead crane.
