This system is another purpose-build peening system by Progressive Surface. It utilizes an ABB arm robot inverted on the ceiling to shot peen complex aircraft engine components. The standard blast nozzle can be automatically exchanged for a for a rotary lance device or dual lance device for simultaneous peening of blade airfoils. Other custom lances can also be exchanged automatically without operator intervention enabling productive use of the operator’s time.
