This class of automated shot peening machine was developed to address the demanding needs of aerostructure component manufacturers. A specially designed conveyor system allows the flexibility to pass a wide variety of part shapes and sizes through the peening zone with little to no part fixturing required. Long entrance and exit vestibules contain both shot peening media and minimize machine sound level to regulating agency limits.
The use of multiple nozzles and a programmable gun mover produce uniform shot peening coverage and intensity over the complete conveyor width. An optional part width sensor adjusts gun mover travel thereby optimizing peening process cycle times and improving throughput. |
